Dr. Amei Lang is
extraordinary professor for Pre- and Early History at the
Ludwig-Maximlians-University in Munich. In 1997 she obtained her
postdoctoral qualification with a thesis concerning the pre-roman Iron
Age in the Central Alps. Subsequently she was associate professor
at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University and held a stand-in chair at the
Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen.
She is working at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University since 1975, leading
excavation and
publication projects mainly regarding the Iron Age in the Central Alps.
She was speaker of the
“Working Group Iron Age” of the Western and Southwestern Association of
Archaeology (“Arbeitsgemeinschaft Einsenzeit” des West- und Süddeutschen
Verbandes für Altertumsforschung).
During 1972 and 1975 she was working as a scientific employee at the
Christian-Albrechts-University
in Kiel and contributed to projects concerning the Iron Age settlement of
Scandinavia.
With the award of the doctorate in 1972 at the Eberhard-Karls-University
in Tuebingen she brought her studies of Pre- and Early History, Classical
Archaeology, Ancient History and Diluvial Prehistory in Mainz and
Tuebingen to an end.
Her special fields of interest lie in
interdisciplinary dialogue: comparative theology,
evolutionary anthropology and biology.
